With the start of the new school year on Wednesday, Denton ISD parents, guardians and caregivers who are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch must complete an application online.
However, ten locations offer free breakfast and lunch to all students, regardless of whether they qualify for free or reduced lunch.
The following campuses receive free breakfast and lunch
- Ann Windle School for Young Children
- Gonzalez School for Young Children
- Alexander Elementary School
- Borman Elementary School
- Evers Park Elementary School
- Ginnings Elementary School
- Hodge Elementary School
- Rivera Elementary School
- Stephens Elementary School
- Davis School
For students at other Denton ISD locations, previously qualified families must submit a new application within the first 30 days of the school year. Households new to the program may submit an application at any time during the school year.
In addition to the digital forms, parents can also obtain a physical copy from the school office or the child nutrition office.

In the past, the number of applicants to the program has increased due to Denton’s growing population size.
We expect the percentage of families in need (this year) to keep pace with the growth of Denton ISD,” said Reece Waddell, Denton ISD communications coordinator.
We have 10 locations that have qualified for the Community Eligibility Program, which allows Denton ISD to provide free meals to all students at those locations. While this reduces the number of applications the district receives for meal subsidies, Denton ISD ultimately serves more students than in years past.”
Households with students at one of the 10 selected locations do not need to complete an application unless they have other children at non-CEP schools.
