Date, time, route and how to watch

A month of celebrating LGBTQ+ pride in the Windy City will culminate with the Chicago Pride Parade Sunday.

Cities across the country are celebrating the LGBTQ+ community in commemoration of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York. The protests following the police raids on the popular gay bar are seen as a boost for LGBTQ+ activism in the US, and many cities began holding Pride parades the following year.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend the parade in Chicago, which will kick off in the queer neighborhood of Northalsted. This year’s parade is themed Pride is Power.
