Even with a #1 hit in 2021 “Things a Man Should Know,” country superstar Laine Wilson had trouble selling tickets for the show.

In a recent interview with NBC News Sunday TODAYLainey reflected on her career and shared a surprising fact that some didn’t know.

“Well, even after ‘Things a Man Oughta Know’ with our first hit, I could barely sell a ticket,” she recalls, shaking her head. “It was really strange. You know, a lot of people know the songs on the radio, but they don’t know who sings them.”

“Like, I have to be on TikTok as much as possible. They have to know me as a friend and then get to know my music. And so I kind of led with that foot,” Lainey shares.

The reigning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year also discussed her move to Nashville, which means “Country’s Cool Again” and her induction into the Grand Ole Opry.
