Cash Founders Recognized With YouTube Legends Award |  News

Bryan “Birdman“Williams and Ronald”ThinWilliams, co-founders of Cash Money, was honored with YouTube’s Leaders and Legends Award at an event in Los Angeles on Thursday evening. The duo was honored for their significant contributions to the music industry.

“Birdman and Slim embody New Orleans to their core. They defied expectations, propelled some of rap and hip-hop’s most iconic figures into superstardom and broke sales records while doing so,” said Lyor CohenGlobal Head of Music at YouTube, in a rack captured by Fox8 Live.

Founded by the two brothers in 1991, Cash Money Records has left an indelible mark on the music industry, signing some of the most influential and successful artists, including Little Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tigerand much more.

Baby responded in a statement to Billboard, “I appreciate Lyor and YouTube for respecting what we have accomplished and what we continue to do. This honor shines a light on all artists who have been on Cash Money Records or affiliated with the label. They also share in this honor.”

Chairman of the New Orleans City Council Helena Moreno presented the award. Lil Wayne Mannie Fris, Youthfuland other members of Cash Money were on hand to accept the award.
