Celebrating the 4th of July in Sacramento? Check out these 6 star events

The scorching heat doesn’t stop Sacramento from celebrating the Fourth of July.

On Thursday, several Independence Day events take place in and around the capital, featuring fireworks displays, parades and live entertainment.

Here you can go on Thursday July 4th:

4th on the field

When: 6:00 PM, fireworks start at 9:30 PM

Where: Sutter Health Park, 400 Ballpark Drive, West Sacramento

Sutter Health Park presents its 11th annual 4th on the Field event.

In the evening there is live music, food trucks, competitions and a fireworks show. There is also a beer garden and a children’s area.

General admission is $18.90 and gives you access to the baseball field. You can get a family pack of four for $16.35 per person.

Children under 2 years are free.

Those 21 and older can get 21+ Club Level tickets for $21.95 each, which gives them access to two bar areas, games, and a view of the fireworks show from the second floor. Those ticket holders can also party for an extra hour at the event.

Red, White and Brew

When: 6:00pm to midnight

Where: Drake’s: The Barn, 985 Riverfront St., West Sacramento

Drake’s: The Barn is hosting a party on Thursday featuring “the best place to watch fireworks in all of Sacramento,” according to its website.

Red, White and Brew will host a live DJ set and a silent disco from 21:00 to midnight. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Ticket prices start at $15 for ages 12 and up. Admission for these ticket holders begins at 8:00 p.m.

Admission is $55 for those 21 and over, which includes silent disco headphones and one free drink. Admission for these event goers begins at 7:00 p.m.

There is also an Elevated Experience ticket for those 21 and older. For $75, you get first entry at 6pm and access to the fire pit and beer garden. Ticket holders also get silent disco headphones, a private bar, complimentary small bites, a s’mores station and two drinks.

Bicycle parade and festival on July 4th

When: 10.00 – 12.30 hrs

Where: Arden Park, 1000 La Sierra Drive, Sacramento

In honor of July 4th, a bicycle parade and festival takes place in Arden Park.

The park will be filled with live music and a children’s zone with bouncy castles. There will also be a raffle, hamburgers and hot dogs.

The parade starts at 10:00. You can register to leave your car or golf cart in the parade. You can also walk or bike in the parade.

Fourth of July Carnival

When: 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM

Where: Christine Thompson Aquatic Center, 8025 Waterman Road, Sacramento

Families are invited to the 4th of July Carnival at the Christine Thompson Aquatic Center.

There will be various funfair stalls where you can play games and win prizes. There will be a themed photo booth and places for crafts, as well as ice cream and nachos.

Tickets are available online for $8. At the carnival they cost $9 each.

39th Annual Rancho Cordova Fourth of July Celebration

When: Wednesday 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Thursday 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM

Where: Hagan Community Park, 2197 Chase Drive, Rancho Cordova

Rancho Cordova celebrates Independence Day for two days.

On Wednesday there are fairground rides and a concert by 3 Queens of Motown.

Thursday starts with the All America Mile Run and parade in the morning. There are carnival rides and an Abba tribute concert in the evening.

The grand finale of both evenings is a fireworks show starting at 9:45 PM.

Tickets for the event are $5 online and $10 at the gate. Tickets for the Carnival ride are $30 per day online and $40 at the gate.

July 4th Creek Walk

When: 6:30 pm

Where: Andrews Park, 614 E Monte Vista Ave., Vacaville

For anyone considering walking outside of Sacramento, Vacaville is hosting an event on July 4 at the Creekwalk Plaza.

A party band plays music ranging from songs from the 70s to contemporary music, including R&B, pop, hip hop and jazz.

Food, drinks and alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.

After the performance there will be a fireworks show.

Tickets are $3 for ages 13 and up and are available at the door. Kids 12 and under are free.
