The Southampton Arts Center hosted its fourth annual summer cocktail party, Whimsy: Motown Magic, on Saturday, June 29. This fundraising event welcomed Southampton residents, artists and other community members who enjoyed gourmet food by Robbins Wolfe, delicious cocktails and an added attraction this year: exciting live entertainment and dancing with That Motown Band. The event supported SAC’s mission of building community through the arts.

“We were thrilled to host Whimsy Motown Magic. One of the most talked about parties of the summer, this fundraising event offered all ages the opportunity to enjoy great drinks and entertainment while supporting Southampton Arts Center. This year, we presented a cocktail and dance party hosted by Robbins Wolfe with live music by That Motown Band. Many guests wore their grooviest attire – think bright colors, fun patterns and vintage ’60s and ’70s styles – to fully embrace the spirit of the evening,” shared SAC Director and Event Chair Elyn Kronemeyer. “This was a great way to support Southampton Arts Center, a touchstone for the arts in Southampton. We offer free admission to our galleries and numerous events and programs throughout the year. I am grateful to the Whimsy committee who dedicated their time and energy to making this one of the best parties of the summer.”

“Whimsy was the perfect opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate the start of the summer season. Southampton Arts Centre’s mission is to build community through the arts, and we’ve been doing that for 11 years,” said SAC Director Christina Mossaides Strassfield. “Whimsy brought that community together to celebrate all the arts and our vibrant arts centre in the heart of our beautiful village. We danced the night away!”
