Motorists traveling via the Van Dyke Freeway through Bruce Township in northern Macomb County will have to find alternate routes starting next week.

Beginning at 6 a.m. Tuesday, northbound M-53 (Van Dyke Freeway) will be closed for repairs between 33 Mile and 35 Mile Road. The closure will last approximately six weeks.

The project will include asphalt and concrete repairs on the travel lanes and shoulders, concrete repairs on the ramps between M-53 and Van Dyke Avenue, and sidewalks and curbs on M-53 and 32 Mile Road.
