2 dead, 1 injured in head-on crash in Wayne County

WAYNE COUNTY, Iowa — Two people were killed and one person was injured in a head-on crash in Wayne County Tuesday morning.

At approximately 7:32 a.m., the Iowa State Patrol responded to a report of a crash near the intersection of Highway 2 and County Road S40, just east of Corydon. According to a crash report, a Ford F150 driven by 19-year-old Adrian Cooper Boggs was traveling eastbound on Highway 2. When the truck rounded a bend in the road, it crossed the center line and struck a Toyota Camry head-on.


The driver of the Camry, 84-year-old Larry Gene McDanel, and his passenger, 70-year-old Linda Darlene McDanel, died at the scene from their injuries. Boggs suffered serious injuries and was taken by air ambulance to a hospital in Des Moines.

The crash is still under investigation.
