Tire Buster’s closing price is due to difficulties in finding staff

Grako’s Tire Pros opened its doors in Carbon County in the early 1980’s. Originally located on Carbon Avenue, the business later moved to Price City’s Main Street.

In 2022, the community learned that the business was purchased by Tire Buster’s Supreme Auto Care, which has two other locations in Utah. In 2023, Tire Buster’s celebrated their one-year anniversary with the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce, the community, and their staff.

Seemingly overnight, the business recently closed its doors in Price. Gabe Dunn of Tire Buster’s in Payson, co-owner of the business, explained that the reason for the closure was that it was extremely difficult to find employees for the location.

Dunn said that they originally had a very good manager that was running the business. The manager went through a family tragedy a little over a year ago and was unable to return to run the business. After that, they struggled to find the right person to run and run the business, to the point where it was costing too much.

As for the future of the building itself, Dunn stated that the building is currently for sale and that some feelers have been put out. Dunn also said that there are likely no plans for Tire Buster’s to return.
