Passports of Divyanka Tripathi, Vivek Dahiya, belongings worth Rs 10 lakh stolen in Italy: ‘Need help to get back’

Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya were robbed of their wallets, passports and other belongings worth Rs 10 lakh in Italy. The actor couple, who was enjoying a romantic getaway in Florence, Italy, recently shared that they had to face the unfortunate incident and needed help to return to India.

Vivek told the Times of India: “Everything about this trip was incredible except this incident. We arrived in Florence yesterday and had planned to stay for a day. We went to check out a property we liked for our stay and left all our belongings in a car parked outside. However, when we came back to collect our belongings, we were shocked to find that the car had been broken into and our passports, wallets, money, groceries and all our valuables were gone. Luckily, they left some old clothes and food items behind.”

He said: “We tried contacting the local police but they rejected our case and said they could not help us without CCTV cameras in that particular area. They even felt there was no point in visiting the location. The police station closes at 6pm and after that they cannot help. We also tried contacting the embassy but unfortunately they were already closed for the day.”

“We are in a small town near Florence. The hotel staff is kind and helpful to us. But we are stuck without money and urgently need the help of the embassy. We need temporary passports and considerable help from the embassy to return to India as we have nothing with us,” he said. Vivek and Divyanka are supposed to return to India in a few days and need help from officials.

Divyanka and Vivek headed to Italy to celebrate their wedding anniversary with a romantic getaway. The couple was actively sharing glimpses of their vacation on social media before the robbery. Earlier today, Divyanka reacted to the news of the robbery on her Instagram story, saying, “Vivek and I are safe and sound but most of our essentials, passports, bank cards and expensive items are missing from our car at our resort. Just hoping for quick help from the embassy.”
