SHINEDOWN'S BARRY KERCH to tour with VAN HALEN - "As much as those guys hated each other at that moment, they were so nice to all of us"; Video

Guest on Paltrocast with Darren Paltrowitz, Shinedown drummer Barry Kerch talks about future plans for the band, how they started working with Rick Beato decades ago, their 2004 tour with Van Halen, and life outside of music.

When asked if, as a fellow Warner catalog artist, there were ever any random Van Halen encounters, Barry replied, “There was never a random encounter, but in 2005 we toured with them for two months on the Sammy reunion tour, and it was the greatest time of my life, one of the greatest times of my life, it was unbelievable. As much as those guys hated each other at the time, they were so nice to all of us. Every day Eddie (Van Halen) walked in… Eddie developed a huge liking for Brent (Smith), he found a kind of kinship, and you know, Eddie was a cigarette mouth, a bottle of wine in one hand, guitar on 24/7, that’s how he lived.”
