Boardman, Ohio Street Target of Multiple Car Thefts

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — One street in Boardman was the victim of a series of thefts after multiple cars were broken into early Thursday morning.

Boardman Police were first called to an address on Homestead Drive around 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning. Reports say that while responding to the reported theft, officers observed two additional vehicles with their doors open.


The first caller told police that her car was parked and unlocked in a carport behind her apartment building on Homestead Drive when it was apparent that someone had broken through it. She told police that nothing was damaged and that the thief only got away with about $2 in change.

Another car in the same carport was also broken into, but police were unable to contact the owner to determine if anything of value had been taken or damaged, sources said.

Police observed several other vehicles with their doors open as they drove west on Homestead Drive from Southern Boulevard. Officers contacted another vehicle owner, who also said she had left her vehicle unlocked, but nothing had been stolen.

According to reports, a resident of Homestead Drive was able to provide police with video footage of a potential suspect. At the time of this report, no suspects have been named or arrested.
