Kwara government praises medical team as free medical and surgical services enter fifth week

The Kwara State Government, through the Ministry of Health, has commended the medical team involved in the ongoing free medical and surgical assistance for their prudence and professionalism during the ongoing exercise.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, commended the team during her visit to Offa General Hospital during the ongoing Outreach on Thursday. She charged the health workers in the state to continue the excellent work in ensuring the good health and well-being of all Kwarans. She acknowledged the impressive performance of experts and wanted to ensure that health care reaches every household, especially the locals.

The state-level medical and surgical outreach activities entered their fifth week today, taking place at the Offa General Hospital, Offa Local Government Area, to provide both medical consultations and surgical services to people in the area.

So far, the outreach exercise has seen a large turnout of beneficiaries from different age groups including children, adults and the elderly. They were given the opportunity to have direct one-on-one conversations with the specialists. They were given free medicines, glasses and cataract surgery, which is the suspected cause of blindness.

In his address, Alhaji Kunle Adegboye, Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Offa Local Government, expressed appreciation for the team and quality services being delivered to the good people of Offa and Kwara State at large despite the current economic challenges.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Saadat Abdullah and Mrs. Ganiyat Ramatu from Offa thanked the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for the kind gesture.
