2nd Street presents “REPAIR,” a live performance that tells the stories of former prisoners
Pittsfield – To Monday, August 12th at 7pm and Tuesday, August 13th at 2pm and 7pm2nd Street presents “REPAIR,” a live performance that tells the stories of former prisoners.
A group of professional actors bring to life the stories and life experiences of former inmates in Berkshire County. Each performance is followed by a discussion where audience members can ask questions directly to the actors.
Captain Lindsay Cornwell, 2nd Street’s executive director, explained that the project was designed to give former inmates the opportunity to tell their stories in an original theatrical piece. “This will allow participants to reflect on their life experiences, take ownership of their narratives, make sense of the obstacles they have overcome, and use past experiences to inform and inspire their community,” she said.
REPAIR was created in response to the tremendous community support for RELEASE, which focused on the stories of formerly incarcerated women. Each of the three performances of RELEASE was attended by 80-100 people, most of whom stayed for the powerful talkbacks after each performance. REPAIR and RELEASE were developed, produced, and hosted by co-directors Amy Brentano and Sara Katzoff.
The free performances take place Monday, August 12th at 7pm and Tuesday, August 13th at 2pm and 7pm at Berkshire Community College’s Robert Boland Theatre, 1350 West Street in Pittsfield. More information is available online.

Williamstown – To Sunday, August 11th at 5pmThe Clark Art Institute concludes its “Music on the Moltz Terrace” concert series with performances by APIE, Family Underground and Animal, Surrender!
Comprised of members of Sunburned Hand of the Man, Pigeons and SQRM, APIE offers a loose yet sarcastic take on country-rock reminiscent of the Velvet Underground and The Mekons. Their debut LP was a refreshingly humorous antidote to the more contrived elements of Americana.
