Six people were arrested in a drug raid in Wayne and Macomb counties that also seized illegal drugs and firearms, authorities said Friday.
The Metro Narcotics Enforcement Team (MNET), a multi-agency task force, said six search warrants were executed in the two counties on Thursday, Michigan State Police said.
According to a press release, investigators seized approximately 227 grams of fentanyl, 113 grams of heroin, 153 grams of cocaine, 24 grams of crack and seven firearms. Two of the firearms were reported stolen, the press release said.
Investigators also seized more than $50,000 worth of assets with intent to confiscate, state police said. No further information was provided about the nature of the assets.
Six people have been taken into custody and are being held until prosecutors can review the cases.
The police did not name the people or the locations of the raids, nor did they provide any other details about the raid.
MNET was assisted by several MSP teams, the FBI, Border Patrol, Downriver SWAT, and the Southeast Michigan Automobile Crime Consortium.
The investigation was supported by a Byrne JAG grant awarded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and administered by the Michigan State Police.
