Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction and this story is the perfect example.
This story may be hard for you to believe, but the author swears its truth.
Regardless, the pure coincidence and the dramatic turn of events left an unforgettable impression on everyone involved.
Read on to find out what happens!
It happened around 1989 in Alabama.
I was about 19 and had two good friends named Brian.
I will call them “Good Brian” and “Bad Brian” (BB).
The author describes the scene to us.
I was young and stupid and trusting…
When Bad Brian got married, he asked me to reserve the hotel room with my credit card.
He promised me they would never charge for it.
I said OK, but was still suspicious, so I mixed up some numbers and the expiration date to the point where I could say it was an oversight.
He gets married and there are no problems.
The author continues with her life.
Two years later, I bought a BBGun through a mail order catalog, something like GGG Sales.
They are no longer in business, but they used to sell Freon powered BBGuns.
What arrives is the wrong item. I call them and they don’t have it in stock, but I can exchange it for anything else in their catalog.
It turned out they were about 45 miles away, in a neighboring state (Florida).
But then the strange things begin.
I drive there, chat with them, and look at their other stuff. While I’m standing there, a guy answers the phone and takes an order. He says the name as he writes it on a form.
That’s my name, but with an address that’s much closer to Florida than where I live.
The author decides to intervene and surprises the employee.
While he writes down the credit card information, I walk in front of him and place my driver’s license on the form.
The employee is irritated because he doesn’t understand what I want to show him and tries to continue with the order.
I point to the name on the driver’s license and he pauses.
I know who is trying to place an order with my card because I have only given my credit card information to one person.
The employee begins to understand. Now it is time for the author to act.
I motion to the man to give me the phone and after some hesitation he does so.
I just say, “Hi Brian. What the hell are you doing?”
I could almost hear his mind exploding when he recognized my voice.
I mean, now two years later, he decides to use my credit card and I’m in another state at the same time in that store picking up the phone?!?
Boom!!!
The author tells his “friend” what will happen next.
I tell him that I’m coming to his house (his new address was on the order form) and that I want the original paper he wrote my information on, as well as any copies he has.
I stopped, he gave it to me and it was only with difficulty that I stopped myself from getting violent…
Her friend still can’t understand this mere coincidence.
The whole time he had a dazed expression on his face, as if he didn’t understand how this had happened.
I never spoke to him again, but thought about how crazy the coincidence was.
I happened to be in the same place when he used my credit card and was close enough to hear him say my name…
Crazy.
I know the revenge was petty, but in my mind I left him with a supernatural fear of me, or at least the feeling that someone is always watching…
Let’s hope this supernatural coincidence stops evil Brian from trying such a plan again.
What did Reddit think?
This user points out that there is one thing that could have made this petty revenge even sweeter,
This Redditor can confirm that he has a killer intuition.
Sometimes it seems written in the stars that you will be caught doing something bad.
This user feels like Bad Brian will never be able to get this experience out of his mind.
It seems as if the author had his guardian angel that day.
So you can talk about being in the right place at the right time!
