A BRITISH car brand has launched a new hatchback edition that offers good value for money.
Vauxhall unveiled the new Astra Griffin Edition, which features a grille, tinted rear windows and fog lights as well as the distinctive silver griffin emblem.
Vauxhall managing director James Taylor told Car Dealer Magazine: “The Astra’s move to electric power is a major milestone for both our popular family car and the Vauxhall brand as we work towards our goal of offering only fully electric cars and vans from 2028.”
“The Astra electric and Astra Sports Tourer electric will offer everyday practicality, comfort and locally emission-free driving pleasure, combined with innovative technology and the bold and clear design language for which Vauxhall is known.”
The casual electric drive has instant power, and you can choose your climate before you drive with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
Let the car guide your journey using charging stops – with built-in intelligent technology linked via the MyVauxhall app.
Thanks to the 100 kW DC charging power, the electric Griffin can be charged from 20 to 80% in just 26 minutes.
You can also park easily with the 180-degree parking camera.
The car’s power comes from a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 128bhp, coupled to a six-speed manual transmission.
Prices for the 1.2-litre petrol hatchback start at £24,795, while the electric version costs £34,995 and the Sports Tourer £37,195.
Compared to the Design model, the petrol Griffin model is £2,775 cheaper, while the starting price of the electric version is £2,800 lower.
The Vauxhall Astra Griffin can be ordered from August, while the petrol car can be ordered in November.
