Inter target Federico Chiesa could stay at Juventus and leave on a free transfer

Federico Chiesa, Inter Milan’s preferred candidate, could well stay at Juventus this season and move on a free transfer next summer.

This is stated in today’s print edition of the Milan newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, FCInterNewsThey report that the 26-year-old could stay with the Bianconeri for the duration of his contract, even if he leaves the project.

One thing is clear: Juventus does not want Chiesa in their squad next season.

The Italian international is not included in the plans of the new Bianconeri coach Thiago Motta.

For this reason, Juventus is aiming to sell Chiesa this summer.

And then there is the contract situation of the former Fiorentina winger, which makes things even more complicated.

Chiesa’s contract with Juventus expires at the end of June next year.

Therefore, this summer would be the last big chance for the Turin giants to make money with the 26-year-old.

Otherwise, Juventus’ only option would be to sell Chiesa in January for a drastically reduced transfer fee – or see him leave for nothing next summer.

Juventus made every effort to get rid of Chiesa this summer.

And there are reports that big clubs from Serie A and Naples are interested in signing the Italian international.

But so far no concrete offers for Church have occurred.

This of course puts Juventus in an uncomfortable position.

The Bianconeri have also informed Chiesa that they intend to sell him this summer and he has been excluded from the squad.

However, if no offers are received that Juventus and Chiesa accept, the 26-year-old will ultimately still be a Juventus player.

The question then arises whether Bianconeri Motta decides to integrate Chiesa back into the project or not.

But either way, a new contract seems extremely unlikely.

That would certainly open the door for Inter.

Big transfers are nothing new for the Nerazzurri and they could wait patiently until Chiesa is available on those terms and then join them next summer.
