British toy group Hunter Price International has bought online toy retailer BargainMax for an undisclosed amount to accelerate its brand expansion strategy across Europe.
This acquisition comes after BargainMax recorded its most successful financial year to date in 2023, achieving consolidated revenue of over $63.4 million (up 27% year-on-year). Hunter Price will leverage the online store’s growing e-commerce channels to increase distribution of its portfolio of toys, lifestyle items, stationery and arts and crafts products, says co-CEO Josh Eden.
Hunter Price is best known for producing licensed consumer products such as PAW Patrol plush toys, Crayola Imagipals figurines, Barbie hairbrushes and Peppa Pig bobby pins. The company signed two new licensing deals in July and will begin producing stationery and accessories for a LOL Surprise! collaboration run by MGA Entertainment and Crayola. It will also develop products for Kellogg’s Pringles and Frosted Flakes food brands.
In addition to Hunter Price’s product range, BargainMax will continue to sell Funko Pop! collectibles, LEGO building sets, Barbie fashion dolls and NERF blasters on its platform.
