Lil Wayne has had his share of feuds before. The rapper performed as JAY-Z several times in the ’00s. Around the same time, he also feuded with Pusha T and the rest of the Star Trak crew. In recent years, however, Weezy F. Baby has preferred to keep the peace. He’s cool with anyone not named Birdman. This approach was most evident in 2024, when his protégé Drake went to war against the rest of the superstars in the rap game. Lil Wayne has continued to support Drake without getting too involved. However, the rapper’s recent change in style has some fans scratching their heads.
Lil Wayne appeared in the music video for Jon Baptiste’s “Uneasy.” The rapper can be seen playing guitar while wearing multiple chains. Nothing too unusual, as Rebirth fans know. However, The Weeknd recently posted a screenshot from the 2023 music video and highlighted a crucial detail. Weezy is wearing an XO chain in the video, which is a nod to The Weeknd’s label of the same name. The rapper is showing his love for the XO crew, even though they have been embroiled in a feud with Drake for nearly a year.
Lil Wayne was recently accused of insulting Drake
Some fans have noted that the video came out last August, but the decision to rock XO was bold a year ago. Lil Wayne is aware of the situation between Drake and The Weeknd. The Canadian stars have been feuding for nearly a decade. Drake and The Weeknd even attacked each other on the songs “Family Matters” and “All to Myself,” respectively. What makes the situation even stranger is that Lil Wayne himself has been accused of insulting Drake on a new song by Cordae.
Wayne dropped a brilliant guest verse on Cordae’s “Saturday Mornings.” The Young Money boss takes a few jabs at a rapper, calling him “sweet” like Teddy Graham. Fans immediately seized on these lines and traced them back to Drake. It’s not hard to see why. Drake’s last name is Graham, and if there’s a rapper who’s been called “sweet” more times than the 6 God, we’ve never heard of him. The diss theory died down pretty quickly, but Lil Wayne didn’t clarify who he was referring to in the song. Is there a feud brewing between Young Money? Or do you think Weezy is simply showing love to another Canadian?
