Los Angeles Lakers to sign Cavaliers free agent

The Cleveland Cavaliers have not made any moves with restricted free agent Isaac Okoro. There were rumors of possible sign-and-trade options, but none have come to fruition.

Some believe the Cavaliers will eventually bring Okoro back. Others believe another team could try to steal him from Cleveland.

Sea Show Life recently urged the Los Angeles Lakers to consider signing Okoro to complete their roster.

“However, if the Lakers are interested in rounding out the perimeter with a 3-and-D wing who has untapped potential, then Okoro would be well worth their time.”

During the 2023-24 NBA season with the Cavaliers, Okoro played in 69 games, starting 42 of them. He averaged 9.4 points per game, along with 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists. In addition to those averages, he made 49 percent of his shots from the field and 39.1 percent from the three-point line.

With only 23 points, Okoro is a very interesting target for other teams, but they should also force Cleveland to find a way to bring him back.

The Cavaliers have been very quiet this offseason. They were able to secure contract extensions with Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen, but have not signed any external talent.

It seems that they have decided on a path that involves continuing with almost the same squad as last season.

Most likely, the market for Okoro will heat up in the next few weeks. He is one of the best players still available on the free agency market. Cleveland will have to make a final decision on what they want to do with him in the near future.
