My client Liz, 45, is a marketing and audience director and wanted to revamp her style. As a busy professional and mother of two, Liz wanted to upgrade her style to set the tone for the upcoming fall season.

Liz has medium-density, naturally wavy hair. It was feeling long and unruly and was ready to take some length down and refresh her color. To lighten her overall color and refresh her existing blonde, I added a few face-framing highlights. Then I applied permanent color in a dark blonde tone to her roots to add depth and dimension.

I cleaned her hair with Oribe Brilliance and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner to add moisture and shine, then sprayed the mid-lengths and ends with Oribe Priming Lotion Leave-In Conditioning Detangler to moisturize and protect against dryness and heat damage. I trimmed several inches off the length, creating a beautiful forward diagonal, collar-length textured shape.

Before styling, I applied Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Hair Cream to the mid-lengths and ends to provide flexible hold all day long and to tame frizz. I blow-dried her hair with a round brush and then used a 2-inch curling iron to give her hair a soft wave. To finish the style, I sprayed Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray throughout her hair to bring out the texture.

Form:

We started by evening out Liz’s complexion with a sheer veil of skin, followed by a light coat of bronzing powder to create a natural glow. To accentuate Liz’s piercing blue eyes, we used a bronze-gold eyeshadow pencil on her eyelid, then lined the lash line with dark brown waterproof eyeliner, which we smudged with an angled eyeliner brush. We curled her lashes and coated them with black mascara, and finished her look with a nude lipstick.
