Hello, Ohio.
A property with lots of extras in the Buckeye State has just hit the market for $19,995,000. As the Wall Street Journal first reported, it is the most expensive residential property in the state.
The six-bedroom, 1,858-square-foot mega-mansion in Hunting Valley features some fancy amenities, including a “man cave, plunge pool and three garages with parking for 20 cars.”
If the mansion sells for the asking price, it would be a state record, the Journal noted.
The owners invested around $20 million in developing the property, which they purchased in 2018.
The property, situated on a 61-hectare site along the Chagrin River, was designed by architect Charles Fazio and “world-renowned yacht interior designer Ari Loar”, it says in the list.
Interior highlights include a Bentley chandelier, marble floors and a dining room with a peacock mosaic mural. The chef’s kitchen features quartzite and marble countertops and a custom-built La Cornue Chateau stove.
The master suite features an atrium with a custom painted window ceiling and includes two bathrooms, a fireplace and a private terrace with another fireplace.
But it’s on the lower level that the home really hums. Here you’ll find a state-of-the-art gym, sauna, steam room and entertainment area with bar, pool table, stage and wine room.
On the second level of the house there are five bedrooms with private bathrooms and a screening room.
Outdoor facilities include a year-round room, plunge pool, bocce court and greenhouse. An arched passageway leads to a detached garage with space for 20 cars and the “man cave” area, which has a bar, golf simulator and barber’s room above.
Bonus: In Ohio’s freezing winters, you’ll never have to worry about shoveling snow from your driveway again: It’s heated.
According to the Journal, the property’s price is justified by the quality of the finishes, the lot size and the upscale location. Speaking of location, the second most expensive home in the 44022 zip code hit the market three weeks ago for $4,895,000 and already has an offer.
