While that song was Wallen’s first hit, the same can’t be said for Malone. The rapper turned rocker turned country star has already topped the Adult Pop Airplay chart with two other hits, including one that temporarily topped the chart earlier this year.
Malone first reached No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay charts half a decade ago with his hit “Circles.” That song helped him transition from the hip-hop sound that made him a star to pure pop. He returned to the top spot just a few weeks ago with Taylor Swift when the pair made their song “Fortnight” a smash hit on multiple charts.
While “I Had Some Help” is Wallen’s first No. 1 hit on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, he has been in the top 10 before. His solo single “Last Night” reached No. 5 in 2023, putting him in the highest category for the first time. Two other songs, “Wasted on You” (No. 14) and “Thinkin’ Bout Me” (No. 18), didn’t stop far behind at No. 10.
While “I Had Some Help” continues to climb on some charts, such as the Adult Pop Airplay chart, both artists have shifted their focus to newer material. Malone has released two proper singles since his first country hit, and his collaborations with Blake Shelton and Luke Combs have resulted in chart success. Wallen, on the other hand, released “Lies Lies Lies,” which immediately entered the top 10 on several charts. Billboard lists, including the Hot 100.
