New Delhi: The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will start repair work on Ashoka Road from Monday till September 10. It may be recalled that on July 7, a portion of the road near Jaswant Singh Roundabout collapsed and the construction department did not repair it because the entire carriageway had to be closed for that portion.

Delhi Traffic Police issued an alert saying that one lane of Ashoka Road will remain closed to traffic till September 10 due to repair work on a sewer.

Due to repair work on a sewer by the NDMC, one lane of Ashoka Road from Jaswant Singh roundabout to Windsor Place roundabout will be closed to traffic from August 12 to September 10, the statement said.

It was said that Ashoka Road would be one-way from Windsor Place towards Jaswant Singh roundabout.

Commuters travelling towards Windsor Place from C-Hexagon India Gate are advised to use Kasturba Gandhi Marg and reach Windsor Place via Firoz Shah traffic light, the alert added.

“There will be one-way traffic on Ashoka Road from Windsor Place towards Jaswant Singh Chambray,” NDMC said.
