An Ohio prosecutor was fired in June following a road rage incident in which he allegedly bit off a man’s finger.
Christopher Murray was fired from his job as an assistant Greene County prosecutor about a week after the June 30 altercation, which began when the victim honked at him.
Riverside police responded to a report of a “brawl in progress” at about 12:30 a.m. near Route 35, according to an incident report obtained by Law & Crime. Officers received several calls stating that “one of the offenders had the other in a headlock.”
Another caller reported a lot of blood and that “his finger was bitten off.”
Emergency responders found the victim, a 43-year-old man, standing in front of his parked car. Officials said there was “a lot of blood on him and on the ground.”
Police found his finger had been bitten off and called for medical help.
The victim stated that he “honked the horn” when the car he was standing behind did not move when the light turned from red to green.
The driver of the car in front of the victim got out and walked toward the victim. The driver, later identified as Murray, allegedly asked the victim if he wanted to fight.
The victim said he opened the car door because the windows weren’t working. Murray ripped the door open and “started fighting,” he claimed.
The victim told officers that they “fought to the ground.” At one point, he managed to climb on top of Murray, who allegedly bit his finger.
Murray dropped his phone before getting back into his car and driving away. Officers confiscated the phone and classified it as evidence.
The victim’s middle finger was found under his car.
Murray has not yet been arrested or charged as the case is still pending before a grand jury.
