Rizz Social & Dating App introduces wiretapping feature

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that a single woman with disposable income, plenty of personal charms, and mental stability will seek companionship on a dating app (unless she’s Reneé Rapp). She won’t encounter any… bears there, but at least now she doesn’t have to enter the proverbial forest alone.

New dating and social app Rizz lets you invite your friends to watch and comment directly in a chat, rather than having to flit between platforms with screenshots of every development. Just create a profile by recording a video or audio prompt—that’s one of the brand’s conceits—create a group, invite your friends, and you basically have the Potsdam conference, but not because you’re all just deciding if Tyler’s tone was a bit too aggressive. And while the brand touts the entertainment purposes of this feature, along with the potential emergence of Rizz “influencers” known for their hot takes on strangers’ conversations, consider the other possibilities: bringing the think tank together to develop a wine bar that serves good food (but not tapas) with vegan and gluten-free options and is exactly equidistant from both parties’ neighborhoods. Working together to prank a guy with blurry photos and a height complex (he started it). To inform the above mentioned Roastee that in a survey of 43 women, 43 women thought he was a pig.

Two critical points: Potential lovers can’t see behind-the-scenes discussions about their match (or lack thereof), and Rizz is still in soft launch mode, so we can’t judge the quality of users, many of whom have signed up through word of mouth. What we can highlight, however, is the wiretapping feature, which could make dating a lot safer and perhaps even more fun for women, whether you’re on the front lines or just there to offer your support.
