To celebrate Singapore’s 59th birthday, a man collaborated with a hair salon in Woodlands to provide free haircuts to 59 migrant workers.
This was shown in a video shared on TikTok on August 9.

59 free haircuts for migrant workers
Muhammad Noor Tijany, better known by his online pseudonym @_donjany, approached migrant workers in Woodlands and offered them a free haircut.
Tijany then took her to the Thuglife Studio Salon at 111 Woodlands St 13.
One worker took the opportunity in the middle of a haircut to tell his mother on camera that he missed her.
Smiles were everywhere as employees left the salon with their new haircuts.
“Alamakyou look like Justin Bieber,” Tijany complimented a co-worker.
Another employee told him that he first came to Singapore when the country was 48 years old.
Regarding the initiative, Tijany said in the video: “National Day is a day when we celebrate together.”
He pointed out that it was migrant workers who helped build Singapore, but their contribution is sometimes overlooked.
“I think they deserve to feel valued and I think it is important for us to celebrate National Day together with the migrant workers. Thank you bhaiya (brothers in Hindi), and Happy National Day to all Singaporeans, Singapore!” he added.
Not the first time
This is not the first time that Tijany has taken the trouble to thank migrant workers on the national holiday.
In 2023, he spent S$58 on biryani and drinks and distributed them to randomly selected migrant workers around Boat Quay.
In a separate video posted on August 9, he also distributed 59 bottles of Pokka drinks to migrant workers in Singapore.
He also shared thank you messages from users with the caption “Thank you Bhaiya” with the staff.
