Stranger Things fans clap back at rumor about Season 5 leak

In the wake of Netflix’s massive data breach, rumors have surfaced that the first three episodes of Stranger Things’ fifth season will be leaked – but fans don’t want to hear anything about it.

Reports of the breach surfaced earlier this week as numerous upcoming anime series made their way to social media, including titles such as Dandadan, Ranma ½, Terminator Zero and Re:Zero.

And it didn’t stop there. Since then, low-quality clips from the first five episodes of the highly anticipated second season of Arcane have leaked, followed by the third season of Heartstopper.

Netflix has now broken its silence on the matter, stating that its “team is taking vigorous action.” However, screenshots have now been shared on X/Twitter that allegedly show messages from the anonymous leaker.

One message says they have “downloaded 87,000 files” and are planning “future leaks.” Another says the “first three episodes of Stranger Things season 5” will be “uploaded and posted later.”

Although these, like the other titles, have not yet been verified, the fan community is already preparing for the counterattack.

Responding to an X/Twitter post about the news, one fan demanded that they even “delete” the warning, writing, “Do you know how bad this could be for production?”

“Why do people keep doing shit like this and ruining it for everyone? Just wait until it’s finished,” said another, while a third warned Stranger Things fans to “keep your eyes peeled and watch for leaks to avoid them.”

And a fourth chimed in: “It’s been reported that the first three episodes of Stranger Things season 5 may have leaked today. If that happens, please don’t watch them and support the crew’s hard work by waiting for the official release.”

It should be noted that the quality of the titles leaked so far is poor and does not provide the expected enjoyment when they appear on Netflix.

A Riot Games representative told Dexerto about the Arcane Season 2 leaks: “The leaked parts are of low quality and feature watermarks, missing content, and bad audio.

“The complete show, in its intended form and with the best viewing experience, will be coming to Netflix in November 2024.”

And if you want to avoid spoilers completely, you can always download an extension and block it in your browser until the release date.
