Stranger Things is coming to Broadway: How to get tickets to see the hit Netflix show on stage – Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX)

While fans wait for a fifth and final season of Stranger Things in 2025, they can also treat themselves to a live version of the show on Broadway

What happened: After playing in London’s West End, “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” is now coming to the USA

The Broadway debut will take place on March 28, 2025, with previews beginning. The official premiere will take place in April.

Netflix Inc NFLX and Sonia Friedman Productions produced the show, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

The current broadcast of the show began in December 2023.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is a prequel to the events of the Netflix series. Fans may recognize several characters in the piece, such as younger versions of Joyce, Bob Newby and Hopper.

Kat Trefry And Jack Thorn wrote the piece with the makers of “Stranger Things” Matt and Ross Duffer (also known as The Duffer Brothers).

Thorne previously wrote the stage adaptation of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Casting for the Broadway version is pending. Tickets for the Broadway show will go on presale September 13th and will be available to the public September 17th.

The London play won two Olivier Awards.

Why it is important: No date has been announced for the fifth season of Stranger Things, meaning the Broadway play could open before fans have a chance to stream the final episodes.

With the release of the play on Broadway, Netflix continues its entry into the stage scene. The company produced “Patriots,” a play by “The Crown” creator Peter Morganwhich contained part of the storyline about the Russian President Wladimir Putin.

Like “Stranger Things,” “Patriots” was performed in London before moving to Broadway.

Fans of “Stranger Things” can also look forward to several spin-offs of the hit series, and the Duffer brothers also have other content in store for Netflix outside of the franchise.

Stranger Things has been a huge hit for Netflix since its premiere in 2016. The franchise has become a heavyweight in consumer products and IP licensing and remains one of the most-watched series in Netflix history.

The fourth season of “Stranger Things” broke records for an English-language series. Viewers watched around 287 million hours of the series in the first week. The viewing figures for the fourth season totaled 1.35 billion hours in the first 28 days.

NFLX Price Action: Netflix stock is trading at $615.03, compared to a 52-week trading range of $344.73 to $697.49.
