Tammy Slaton channels her inner “bad girl” as she unveils her hair transformation Tinashe‘s hit “Nasty”.
“New haircut (sic),” Slaton, 38, captioned her August TikTok video, showing off her new hairstyle while sitting in her car.
With Tinashe’s lyrics “I’ve been a nasty girl, nasty / I’ve been a nasty girl, nasty … Is someone gonna match my freak?” playing in the background, Slaton offered her followers a 360-degree view of her longer hairstyle.
The 1000-pound sisters Star revealed in the clip that she still has side-swept bangs, but now has more layers in the back. Her hair has grown a little longer since her social media posts in June, and a few curls can be seen at the back of her scalp.
Although Slaton did not sing along to the song in the clip, she moved her head from side to side while grinning slightly at the camera.
“You look so amazing Tammy keep it up girl 💪🏻💜,” one fan wrote in the comments section, while a second user added, “You look beautiful Tammy! You are an inspiration ♥️xx.”
Over the years, Slaton has changed her appearance – she has had red curls, brown hair and a pixie cut – while also working on her weight loss.
Fans first met Slaton on the TLC series in 2020 when she weighed around 600 pounds. In 2021, she entered rehab for various health issues and lost 110 pounds. The reality star underwent gastric bypass surgery in 2022 and has since lost a total of more than 400 pounds.
“I have become wiser and have had surgery,” she said People in June 2023. “I was able to strengthen my lungs enough to take out my (tracheostomy tube for breathing), and recently the doctor gave me permission to go without my oxygen machine during the day. Now I only wear my oxygen at night, along with my BiPap machine. I monitor my oxygen levels throughout the day and always have my machine on hand in case I need it.”
Slaton admitted: “I’m grateful to be alive and it’s fun to make such progress.”
To maintain her weight, Slaton revealed that she avoids a lot of sugar and soda (which she calls “Sodies”) and tries to eat healthy.
“I don’t drink sodas that often anymore,” she explained in a November 2023 TikTok. “I mean, maybe two 12-ounce cans a day, sometimes not even that. Sometimes just one, sometimes none at all.”
The TV personality continued, “If I drink anything else, it’s tea… diet tea or sugar-free Gatorade. I sometimes like to drink Crystal Light packets or something like that… but also just plain water.”
Slaton noted in a now-deleted Instagram comment that her diet tips include: “Protein, low carbs, no sugar, no soda, portion control.”
In addition to losing weight, Slaton is also focused on living life to the fullest, which includes learning to drive one day. Now that she can buckle up in a car, she’s thinking about getting behind the wheel herself.
“I want to learn it someday,” Slaton told a fan on TikTok in December 2023. “But right now the fear is just a little too much. There’s a lot going on. But small steps.”
Slaton has also found a new group of “spiritual sisters” to accompany her on her summer adventures. Slaton introduced her social media followers: Michelle And Paola Roman At the end of last year. The women all went on a girls’ trip in April, which they documented online.
