Conservative political commentator Candace Owens interviewed Ye – formerly Kanye West – in 2022 and shelved the 72-minute chat until she posted it on her YouTube page on Wednesday (August 7).
In the explosive interview, Yeezy touches on countless topics as he felt the impact of his anti-Semitic comments, which led to companies like Gap, Balenciaga, Def Jam and Adidas cutting off their business relationships with the Chicago-based artist.
Ye once gave flowers to his rival Drake and mentor Jay-Z, calling him the best to ever do so in the rap world.
“That makes me think that Drake is the greatest rapper of all time in terms of numbers. Jay-Z is the greatest rapper of all time in terms of inspiration,” he explained.
Ye’s follow-up comment took a drastic turn when it came to Hov and Beyoncé’s marriage. “I just think Beyoncé should let him go and have some sex, seriously,” West suggested in a shrill manner. “Go to the (Dominican Republic) or something, you know what I mean?”
Fans couldn’t believe where the conversation about Jay-Z ended up. “50 cent is gonna have a blast with this,” one person wrote on X, with another adding, “Ye is definitely crazy to say something like this out of the blue.”
West and Jay-Z have not been seen together in recent years, so it is unclear what their relationship is like today. On the musical side, however, Jay made a surprise appearance at Donda outstanding “Jail” in 2021.
Ye and Drake were feuding friends for most of the decade, feuding on and off. West tried to get involved in the Kendrick Lamar-Drizzy feud on behalf of K. Dot, but his “Like That” remix didn’t make much of a splash.
Yeezy also mentioned Drake in a seemingly dissing manner on Vulture 2 Track 530, which is about his divorce from Kim Kardashian. “You’re a fake bitch/ You don’t really love Ye, listen to Drake, bitch,” he raps.
Check out the full 2022 interview below, where West also chats about how he was allegedly drunk when he fired off the anti-Semitic “Death Con 3” tweet, wanting to change his name to “Christian Billionaire Ye,” and more.
