2 bodies found in the Ohio River near Cincinnati

According to Boone County Water Rescue, two bodies were found in the Ohio River near Cincinnati within 15 hours.

On Friday at approximately 8:10 p.m., a Boone County water rescue team was notified of a possible body floating down the river. The rescue team was able to locate the body between the Purple People Bridge and the Taylor Southgate Bridge.

The body was then taken to the Kentucky side of the river, where it was turned over to the Newport Fire Department and the Campbell County Coroner’s Office.

Exactly 15 hours later, at 11:10 a.m. on Saturday, the water rescue team was dispatched to another person in the water. Barge crews found a body on the Ohio side of the river near the Brent Spence Bridge.

A Cincinnati fireboat transported Cincinnati Police detectives, crime scene investigators and the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office to the location where the body was found to conduct their investigation.

Both recoveries remain under investigation. The identities of the victims have not yet been released and it is unclear if foul play was involved in either death.
