3 free agents the Patriots need to sign after Matthew Judon

The New England Patriots went through a lot of changes this offseason, but that shouldn’t shock people around the league. They have a new head coach, Jerod Mayo, and general manager Eliot Wolf at the helm.

They want to put the roster together the way they see fit and just took a big step by trading Matthew Judon.

After weeks of back and forth with Judon, the Pats can finally put the matter behind them. With three weeks left until the start of the regular season, more players are being released, opening up some spots on the roster.

The Patriots will be rebuilding, but there are still some free agents available for them to sign. Below, we discuss three free agents the Patriots will need to sign after Judon leaves.

The Patriots have an experienced quarterback, Jacoby Brissett, at quarterback, but many people expect Drake Maye to eventually take over.

The next big issue is making sure your QB is protected and standing upright. The Patriots drafted Caedan Wallace in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft and signed Chukwuma Okorafor as a free agent. But adding someone like Bakhtiari would be a smart move.

Although he has struggled with knee injuries since 2020, he is expected to be healthy and ready to play this season. When he was on the field, the 32-year-old was one of the best tackles in the NFL.

Yes, I know it’s been a few years, but having a veteran like that on the offensive line could go a long way. Especially for a rookie like Wallace. This would be a low-cost signing that could pay off big time for New England.
