3 things we hated and 3 things we loved

I don’t know if I feel this way because the Bloodline segments on WWE SmackDown have felt incredibly redundant for weeks leading up to Roman Reigns’ return at SummerSlam, but I’m already just not feeling the New Judgment Day vs. Terror Twins aspect. Of course I wasn’t thrilled when Dominik Mysterio turned on Rhea Ripley simply because I saw it coming a mile away and hated that twist and storyline from the beginning, but especially now that Ripley and Damian Priest are facing Mysterio and Liv Morgan at Bash in Berlin later this month, things are only just starting to feel even. more more redundant than they already are. And, to quote Carlito, an obviously full-fledged member of New Judgment Day: That’s not cool.

Although Ripley did talk a little more in the ring this week, which I’ll never complain about, and the image of Priest appearing out of nowhere in the crowd behind Morgan and Mysterio to beat up Mysterio was a great (and funny!) image, this led to Priest having a match with another member of New Judgment Day, this week it was Carlito. Last week it was JD McDonagh. The only thing that won’t be completely redundant, at least I think, is the fact that Priest and Balor probably won’t face each other until Bash in Berlin. I don’t know exactly what show they’ll save it for, but I think it’s a big match with the potential to be a major blood feud that WWE should let simmer for a while. Keep Priest away from Mysterio and Morgan and focus on Balor after that top-notch live event in Germany. While I understand Priest is angry at Mysterio for hurting Ripley, I think Mami can have her own fights against Morgan. Maybe even get the Women’s World Championship back, because Morgan certainly hasn’t defended it since she had it. A bxabyface Ripley with the championship back over her shoulder taking on all challengers is what I want to see on Raw.

Thankfully, we only have two episodes of Raw left before Bash in Berlin, and I’m sure they’ll just consist of more in-ring promos, probably one from the good guys, then the next week from the bad guys, or vice versa, both in the ring, then the other team comes and bursts into the promo and there’s a brawl. For two more episodes. I’m also sure that the next two weeks, no matter what they do, won’t make me look forward to this fight anymore. The fight makes sense, and I wanted to see Priest and Ripley beat up Mysterio and Morgan, but I think I’m already at a steady level of just… Not necessarily excitement, but just ready to see that hopefully? This is one of those angles that I can just tell isn’t going to come across, especially on the go-home show, and I’m just ready for them to fight in Berlin.
