1. Deposit a check

No time to go to the bank? With the Citizens mobile banking app, you can quickly and securely deposit a check anytime. It’s easy—the app takes the guesswork out of it by guiding you every step of the way.1

To make a mobile check deposit:

  1. Tap “Deposit”.
  2. Enter the check amount.
  3. Select the account into which you want to make the deposit.
  4. Sign the back of the check. Below your signature, write “For mobile deposits to citizens only.”
  5. Place the check on a dark background with good lighting, then take photos of the front and back by tapping the camera icon.
  6. Make sure your deposit information is correct and tap “Deposit” to finish.

That’s all! And if the deposit qualifies for Instant Funds from Citizens™, you’ll have immediate access to the funds for withdrawals and purchases. You can also use your funds to pay for purchases that post to your account that business day if the deposit is made before 10 p.m. ET on business days.

2. Send money with Zelle®

When you need to split the cost of a bill, support a friend in need, or pay your babysitter, you can quickly send money with Zelle® in Citizens’ mobile banking app—even if the person you’re sending money to uses a different bank.2

Zelle® is an easy way to send and receive money between bank accounts, usually within minutes.2 You don’t need the recipient’s bank account information – just an email address or US cell phone number.

To use Zelle® to send money through the Citizens mobile banking app:

  1. Tap Send Money with Zelle®.
  2. Enter the recipient’s email address or US mobile number.
  3. Enter the amount you want to send.
  4. Confirm the transaction.

Sending money with Zelle® is safe because it uses the same technology used to protect your bank. Your account information is protected by firewalls, state-of-the-art encryption technology, and secure logins.

3. Transfer money between accounts

The Citizens Mobile Banking app lets you easily and securely move money between Citizens accounts to manage your finances. For example, you can move money from a checking account to a savings account to get better interest rates, or from a savings account to a checking account to cover expenses.

To transfer money between accounts:

  1. Tap Transfer.
  2. Select the account you want to transfer from.
  3. Select the account you want to transfer to.
  4. Enter the amount and tap “Transfer”.

4. Block or unblock debit and credit cards

Managing credit cards has never been easier! If you ever lose a debit or credit card, or your card is stolen, locking it can prevent unauthorized transactions. This gives you time to look for your card or get a replacement. You should also lock your card if you see any unfamiliar transactions on your statement to protect yourself during the investigation.

Here’s how to quickly block a debit or credit card:

  1. Tap Manage Cards.
  2. Select the card you want to block.
  3. A pop-up notification will give you the option to freeze or cancel the process. Select Freeze.

If you want to unblock your card, just go back to Manage Cards, select the blocked card and confirm in the pop-up notification that you want to unblock it.

5. View your transaction history and more

Not sure how much money is in your account? Want to make sure a payment is correct? With the Citizens Mobile Banking app, you always have up-to-date information at your fingertips:

  • Check your account balance
  • View your transaction history, including payments, transfers and deposits
