Justin Bieber spoke about how he really wanted to become a father during his early marriage to Hailey, but didn’t want to rush it. Now the Baby singer has finally had his first child.
Friends and fans have been eagerly waiting for the couple to start a family. It’s been quite a journey that has included many pregnancy rumors as well as Hailey’s openness about her fears about parenthood in 2023. Justin and Hailey Bieber have consistently expressed their excitement to become parents in numerous interviews and captions.
In February 2020, Justin admitted in an interview that he was looking forward to starting a family, but that he would take his time. He wanted to enjoy his marriage, travel and build a bond with Hailey before they think about having children.

1. “There will always be people who feel offended”
On April 1, 2019, Justin and Hailey pulled a prank and claimed she was pregnant with their first child. Although some people took offense at this because it made fun of other people’s infertility issues, it was not meant to be offensive. However, Justin was not too late to apologize.
He stressed that it was a simple prank and said: “There will always be people who are offended and there are also people who don’t take jokes very well.” Bieber added: “I didn’t mean to be insensitive at all to people who can’t have children.”
2. “I just saw the caring look in her eyes”
During an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in February 2020, Justin recalled Hailey holding a baby during an event. For Justin, this was one of those moments in life when he felt like maybe it was time to start a family and have kids. He gushed, “I saw her with a baby and it just clicked.”
Bieber continued: “I had just seen her across the room, holding a baby, and I had just seen the caring look in her eyes for the baby. And I thought, I want the mother of my children to look at a baby the way she did.”
3. “It’s her body and whatever she wants to do”
In December 2020, that same year, Justin appeared on a talk show where he expressed his excitement about having children, but also stressed the importance of respecting Hailey’s schedule. During his appearance on The Ellen Show, he talked about personal goals that Hailey had set for herself before having her children.
He told Ellen: “I think she’s just not ready yet, and I think that’s OK. I’ll have as many as Hailey is willing to squeeze out. I’d like to have a small tribe. It’s her body and whatever she wants to do.”
4. “Hopefully we can get a lump”
In October 2021, he revealed in his documentary “Justin Bieber: Our World” how soon he hoped to start a family of his own. He spoke very positively about the idea of having another baby.
He said, “My intention for 2021 is to continue to set goals and have fun while doing it. I’m making sure to put my family first and hopefully we’ll pull out some gold.” He clarified to Hailey that they should “go for it” as she had been wondering about the set year.
5. “Welcome home, Jack Blues Bieber”
And finally, on Friday, August 23, 2024, Bieber announced the arrival of his firstborn son on Instagram with an accompanying photo. The caption of the post exclaimed with great joy to welcome his baby. He also revealed the name – Jack Blues Bieber. He wrote, “WELCOME HOME JACK BLUES BIEBER.”
