Looking for a new comedy? Hulu may have the perfect one for you! Here are five things to know about Hulu’s upcoming Mid-century modern.

It wasn’t long ago that we learned that David Kohan and Max Mutchnick (best known as the creators of the iconic Will and grace, and Ryan Murphy had suggested the comedy series Mid-century modern. The fact that the streamer ordered a season of the comedy so quickly is very optimistic and we couldn’t be more excited! Want to know a few things about the upcoming comedy before you share our excitement? We’ve got them for you!

As we just mentioned, Mid-Century Modern comes from David Kohan, Max Mutchnick and Ryan Murphy. They all know how to produce the best comedy series. Of course, we have Will and grace, by Kohan and Mutchnick. Ryan Murphy is perhaps best known for American Horror Story, But the fans also know and love Joy.

Mid-Century Modern Starring Nathan Lan, Matt Bomer (a regular guest star on the series with Ryan Murphy), Nathan Lee Graham and Linda Lavin. Directed by James Burrows, the story, to be told in a multi-cam format, follows a small group of best friends who decide to spend their “golden years” together in Palm Springs. The friends, described by Deadline as “gay gentlemen of a certain age,” will be played by Lane, Bomer and Graham. Linda Lavin will play the role of the character Lane’s mother, who will also live with them. The synopsis ends with:

It sounds like a light-hearted comedy, but I’m sure there will be some hard-hitting and emotional moments. What I’m not so sure about is the multi-cam format the series will follow. It’s not the most popular or preferred way to tell a story, especially one that’s on a streaming platform. I’m nervous about how it will work, but I’ll definitely be watching and keeping my fingers crossed.
