1. CodeOrange: The Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) predicts that air quality will be in the Code Orange range today. The air is unhealthy to breathe for sensitive groups of people.

2. Relief Fund: As of Tuesday morning, more than $9,400 has been raised to help families affected by a Clarksburg apartment building fire. The relief fund will close next Wednesday, September 4, and anyone wishing to contribute can donate here. 100% of donations will go to the affected residents.

3. Subway stations will reopen soon: This Sunday, four Red Line Metro stations will reopen after being closed for nearly three months. Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton and Glenmont stations will reopen after being closed since June 1 for construction of a Purple Line mezzanine and other work.

4. Food resources: Find out about today’s food distribution campaigns in the district.

5. In case you missed it: The new school year at MCPS began this week. At Albert Einstein High School, the marching band, student dancers and poms opened the year before school.
