7 Things to Still Do in WNY This Summer (It’s NOT Over!)

You’ve probably seen a million signs of fall by now, but I’m here to tell you that summer isn’t over yet!

I know the Erie County Fair is over. I know the kids have to go back to school. I know the leaves are already starting to change. Even pumpkin spice is back. But there are still so many things you can do to prove that summer isn’t over yet.

Technically, summer isn’t over until the autumnal equinox, which is at the end of September. Until then, can’t we just enjoy summer for a few more days? As many signs as there are that summer is over, there are also many that tell us it’s still alive and well. Here are just a few of them:

1. Water parks are still open – It may only be a few days away, but both Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World and Darien Lake are open through September 2nd.

2. There are still many fairs and festivals taking place – Click here to see a list of just a few of the new features coming soon.

3. The Buffalo Bisons games are still taking place – They even have a homestand this weekend that you can attend.

4. Farmers markets are still taking place – There are still plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables from the fields. Go out and enjoy them while they’re still there!

5. The beaches are still open – Visit Sole at Woodlawn Beach, Mickey Rats or Sunset Bay. But don’t miss another sunset.

6. Ice cream parlors are still open – I’m not talking about the ones that are open all year round. I’m talking about the ones that you wait all winter for. They’re still open, so let’s take advantage of the opportunity.

7. The grills are still outside – You haven’t put your grill away yet, have you? There’s still plenty of time to enjoy it!
