8 Things to Do in Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville, Tennessee is known as “Music City” and for good reason. For any music fan, this should be a top destination for their next vacation.

Here are some things everyone must see when visiting:

This live music venue has been and will continue to be home to many legendary country music acts. There is a show at the Opry about five times a week, so get your tickets fast because they sell out fast.

Continuing the trail of legendary country music stops, this is one of the largest music museums in the world. Allow at least two hours to tour the many exhibits it houses. The Rotunda is the main attraction and the last stop. This is where every member of the Hall of Fame is immortalized.

If you’re taking a trip outdoors, Centennial is a large urban park that’s home to one of Nashville’s most interesting attractions. It features a full-scale replica of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece. Inside, there’s an art museum and a large statue dedicated to Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, war, and arts and crafts.

If you need a break from city life, Radnor can be a very peaceful and tranquil stop on your trip. It is home to plenty of wildlife and has numerous hiking trails that make traveling easy. It is located just eight miles south of Downtown Nashville, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to get to.

This museum has the largest collection of European automobiles in the United States. A total of 500 cars are on display, with about 150 cars on display each day. Tours of the vault are offered, where you can also see the cars in the basement that are not on display.

For a different vibe than country music, the NMAAM showcases the various genres inspired, created or influenced by African Americans. It includes clothing worn by Nat King Cole, Whitney Houston, Dorothy Dandridge and others. It is located on the corner of Fifth and Broadway, where the Nashville Convention Center once stood.

Speaking of Broadway, it is the main part of downtown Nashville. There is a great live music scene, including some famous honky-tonk performances. There are various food vendors and street performers that make it always feel like a lively area.

This is the most famous cuisine the city has to offer. Some of the best places to eat include Hattie B’s, Prince’s Hot Chicken or Bolton’s.
