Quieter beach in the UK with miles of golden sand, cheap beer and ice cream

Brits planning a seaside break this summer are being encouraged to take advantage of the UK’s most affordable beach, with cheap beer and ice cream and golden sand. While many fly abroad for a sunny beach holiday, those looking to avoid the stress and expense of travel can find sandy shores and budget-friendly amenities right here in the UK.

Just two miles from Great Yarmouth is the picturesque Victorian seaside town of Gorleston-on-Sea. This Norfolk resort offers a quieter alternative to crowded tourist attractions and is family-friendly – even dogs are welcome on the beach.

Tourist attractions are often expensive, including high parking fees, but visitors to Gorleston can take advantage of free parking.

Parking is available near the Gorleston Pavilion Theatre and Gorleston Pier, or closer to the centre of the beach, near the start of the cliffs. Both car parks provide easy access to the seafront, reports the Mirror.

For those looking for amenities, the beach has a children’s paddling pool, a marina and lifeguards on duty from April to September. Relaxing on the beach isn’t too expensive either: a pint costs a reasonable £4.39 and a spritz cocktail is a little more expensive at £7.25.

A trip to the seaside wouldn’t be complete without treating yourself to a £2.50 ice cream and a £1.07 bottle of water. Omio has researched 75 beaches in popular holiday destinations to find the cheapest, with Gorleston-on-Sea topping the UK list, with Weymouth in second place.

Weymouth Beach, the UK’s second cheapest beach, is an award-winning stretch of sand with a stunning Georgian seafront. Visitors are enchanted by its golden sands, donkey rides and funfair attractions.

The attractive Georgian-style beach promenade invites you to take leisurely strolls along the wide promenade, rent a pedal boat or simply relax on a deckchair.

The beach has been awarded the Blue Flag and the Seaside Award, making it one of the safest, cleanest and best in the country. A pint of beer costs £4.01, while a spritz is slightly more expensive than at Gorleston-on-Sea at £8.02.

While you enjoy the deep blue waters, you can relax on a sun lounger for £7.98 and enjoy an ice cream for £2.75.
