Falcons WR Drake London wired for joint training with Dolphins

Two years ago, the Atlanta Falcons selected wide receiver Drake London with the No. 8 overall pick in the draft. The former USC star lived up to the reputation in his first two NFL seasons, recording 141 catches for 1,771 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

While those numbers aren’t exactly elite, London’s performance is impressive when you add some context. The Falcons have spent the last two years rotating through subpar quarterbacks. Marcus Mariota was the team’s primary starter in 2022 and Desmond Ridder took over in 2023. Neither player is on track to be back in the starting lineup anytime soon.

London has top-10 talent at the wide receiver position, but he needs a little help from Kirk Cousins to get the recognition he deserves. Based on what we’ve seen so far in training camp, the 2024 season could be a big one for London.

Atlanta’s No. 1 wide receiver was wired up during a joint practice with the Miami Dolphins this week. Watch the entire segment, shared on the team’s Twitter account, below:

The Falcons have lost wide receiver Rondale Moore for the season after he suffered a knee injury during Wednesday’s practice in Miami. With Atlanta placing Moore on the injured list, someone else will have to step in in 2024.

Could the team use someone already on the roster or sign a free agent receiver? Both options are viable, but it will likely depend on how some of the younger wideouts perform in the team’s season opener.

Check out the team’s updated lineup and 90-man roster ahead of Friday night’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
