Sequel to Freaky Friday gets official title

The A crazy Friday The sequel finally got the title.

The second tranche is called Crazy FridayStars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis announced on Friday evening at D23.

“It’s more fun, it’s more emotional and it’s all for you,” Lohan told the crowd at the Honda Center during Disney’s Entertainment Showcase. “Seriously, the only reason we’re back here doing this is because of your love. That’s the reason.”

Curtis added: “It feels like we’re picking up where we left off and that’s really nice.”

As they spoke, the giant screen showed some behind-the-scenes photos, including a recreation of the iconic moment when the mother-daughter duo of Lohan and Curtis realize that the bodies were switched in the original film.

Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao will all return for the sequel to the 2003 family film, which grossed $160.8 million worldwide. Also new are Sophia Hammons, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Jordan E. Cooper.

Nisha Ganatra (The high tone, late at night) directs. Kristin Burr and Andrew Gunn produce.

Directed by Mark Waters, the early 2000s film is about an overworked mother and daughter who don’t get along. When they switch bodies, each must adapt to the other’s life for one crazy Friday. The film was a reboot of the 1976 Disney film starring Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris.

Crazy Friday will be released nationwide in 2025.
