KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 – Aeon Bank is probably the most lucrative digital bank in Malaysia right now, effectively offering 1.5 percent cashback and a high win rate of 3.88 percent. However, one of our biggest complaints was the lack of real-time information for their debit card transactions.
Islamic Digital Bank recently updated its app and now displays all card transactions in real time.
Previously, the Aeon Bank app only showed completed card payments that took several days to complete. The delay can be frustrating if you make multiple transactions in a short period of time. Card payments that go through the MyDebit network are processed instantly, but if you made a payment through the Visa network, we found it took two to three days for it to show up in the app.
Currently, the app sends push notifications for each card transaction, but the problem is that users may not know exactly how much they have spent and what the actual remaining balance is. The problem became more apparent when using the card abroad.
With the latest app update, all card transactions, including those in “In Process” status, are displayed in the app and thus occur in real time as expected from any digital payment platform.

In addition to the transaction history, the app’s “Total Balance” now also shows the amount deducted for all pending transactions. This now gives Aeon Bank account holders a more accurate view of their bank balances. However, please note that the “Total Balance” also includes the funds stored in your savings pot and the minimum balance of RM20 required to maintain the account.
For example, if you opened an Aeon Bank account with an initial deposit of RM100, you are only allowed to use up to RM80 after deducting the minimum balance of RM20. If you transfer RM20 to a savings pot, you will only be left with RM60 to spend.
