Ginnifer Goodwin “available” for a “Once Upon a Time” reboot (exclusive)

Ginnifer Goodwin is ready to return to the Once upon a time Universe!

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at D23, the ultimate Disney fan event in Anaheim, Calif., on Friday, August 9, the 46-year-old actress opened up about potentially starring in a reboot or sequel to the popular ABC show.

“I’m hearing those rumors too (about a reboot) and I’m available if they (want to do that),” Goodwin said. “I mean, I live right around the corner from the creator, so I’m sure I’ll hear things.”

“I would love to go back there. My whole life is kind of built on it. I mean, I married Prince Charming. His babies are my babies,” she added, referring to her husband Josh Dallas, whom she met on the OUAT and now has two children with her.

OUAT followed various popular fairy tale characters as they collided with modern life. Created by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, the series ran for seven seasons between 2011 and 2018.

Goodwin played the role of Snow White in the fantasy series, while 45-year-old Dallas played Prince Charming.

Other roles in the series included Lana Parrilla (“The Evil Queen”/Regina Mills), Robert Carlyle (“Rumplestiltskin”/Mr. Gold), Jared S. Gilmore (Henry Mills), Emilie de Ravin (“Belle”), Colin O’Donoghue (Captain Hook) and Jennifer Morrison, who played the role of Snow White and Prince Charming’s daughter, Emma Swan.

When Dallas spoke to PEOPLE last year, he thought about OUAT‘s legacy and explained: “People come to me all the time and talk about Once and say they just started watching it and they really like it.”

Goodwin is currently working on Zootopia 2a sequel to the 2016 original. In it, she once again takes on the role of Judy Hopps.

At D23, the actress said in conversation with director and producer Jared Bush that she will be back in the recording booth ahead of the film’s release next year.

Goodwin, who said she wears bunny ears to emulate her cartoon character, compared reprising her role to riding a bike to PEOPLE: “Now I can use the first movie as homework because I feel like the first time was about finding her and then I saw the movie and understood who the character was.”

Once upon a time can be streamed on Disney+. Zootopia 2 will be released in theaters on November 26, 2025.
