– Joseph (Joe) Buford of Paso Robles, CA passed away on July 31, 2024 at the age of 65.
Joe was born on May 26, 1959 in Tawas City, Michigan.
He worked as a buyer and supply clerk for government contracts, including in Antarctica. Joe also worked as a race car parts buyer and as a manufacturing parts buyer for Piper Airplanes in Santa Maria, California.
Joe liked sports and, like his parents, played a good game of golf. Joe was a Chiefs football fan, his brother Jim a Raiders fan. They looked forward to the rivals’ games every year.
Joe is survived by his sister Karen and brother-in-law Eugene Long. He is survived by 2 nephews, Shawn (Penny) Long, Jesse (Kolby) Long and a niece, Jenifer Long, 8 great nephews and nieces and a great grand nephew and great grand niece, all of Lompoc, CA.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, Carrol and Dolores Buford, and his older brother, Jim.
A private family ashes scattering ceremony off the central coast of California, like the one his brother Jim had years ago, will be held at a later date.
