Canine Candyland planned at Pandy’s Garden Center

Get ready for a tail-wagging good time as Pandy’s Garden Center announces its long-awaited Dog Days of Summer event, according to a press release

Under the motto “Canine Candyland,” the Dog Days of Summer will take place on August 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pandy’s Garden Center, 41600 Griswold Road in Elyria.

This fun day is designed to bring together dog lovers from across the community to support the Friendship Animal Protective League, an animal shelter in Elyria, the press release said.

The event is about raising funds and awareness for Friendship APL, a noble organization dedicated to providing shelter, medical care and love to animals in need, the press release states.

Attendees are invited to bring their beloved furry friends for plenty of excitement and, who knows, maybe even a “pupcup,” the press release states.

One of the highlights of the event is a costume contest for dogs.

Owners can dress their pets in the best Candyland outfit and have the chance to win great prizes, the press release said.

There will be numerous vendors on site throughout the day offering a range of pet-related products and services, the press release states.

For those looking to adopt a pet, Friendship APL will be on site, according to the press release.

Providers include:

• “A Moment in Time Photography” will capture heartwarming moments of you and your four-legged companion, the press release says.

• If your dog needs a refresh, Roo’s Purrfect Paws groomer is here to help.

• Rocky & Lela’s Barkery and Boutique is there if your dog needs a snack.

• When you get hungry, C & D’s Mobile Creole Kitchen will serve you something to eat.

Every dollar raised during the event goes directly to Friendship APL and supports its mission to rescue, care for and provide permanent homes for animals in need, the press release said.

“We are thrilled to host the Canine Candyland event at Pandy’s Garden Center in support of Friendship APL,” said Candi Petranyi, event coordinator at Pandy’s Garden Center, in the press release. “Not only will this be an exciting day for dogs and their owners, but it will also be a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and make a real difference in the lives of animals who deserve our love and care.”

Participants are asked to bring canned goods, newspapers, dog toys and other supplies and donate them to the APL, the press release said.

“Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need while enjoying a wonderful day with your furry companions,” the press release states. “The Canine Candyland event at Pandy’s Garden Center promises an experience full of joy, camaraderie and the knowledge that you are supporting a great cause.”
