Teenagers accused of assault with machete in Ithaca – Finger Lakes Daily News

Two teenagers are accused of attacking another teenager with a machete in the city of Ithaca.

Police responded to the 200 block of Elmira Road shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday night after receiving a report of an attack in progress. The attackers fled when police arrived, but were arrested a short time later on South Meadow Street. The machete allegedly used in the attack was recovered.

The suspects, aged 17 and 15, were released into the custody of their parents while several charges were filed against them. The victim suffered injuries that are not life-threatening and have not been further specified.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Park Police assisted the Ithaca Police Department in the investigation.
