Keke Palmer’s mother reacts to revelation of sexual harassment by Dan Schneider and Drake Bell

Keke Palmer and her mother recently spoke about their time on set with Dan Schneider and shared how they felt after the revelation of Drake Bell’s sexual assault.

Keke told her mother on her podcast, “I honestly remember you having a lot to say about the Dan Schneider sets. I remember you having a certain attitude about Nickelodeon.”

Palmer’s mother said: “In my honest opinion, I found the whole atmosphere on the Dan Schneider set very strange, very cult-like. The parents were very withdrawn and I honestly thought they all took themselves way too seriously.”

She added: “I always viewed your time at Nickelodeon as a halfway house. You didn’t start at Nickelodeon or Disney. You were fortunate to work in both adult and children’s situations. My attitude toward the entertainment business was not that Disney Channel or Nickelodeon was the be-all and end-all, but many parents thought that.” About Drake Bell, she continued: “When I heard Drake’s story, it broke my heart because I could see his parents falling into the trap.”
